Hailing from the westernmost vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley AVA, the Solomon Hills Vineyard Pinot Noir by Dominion Tantara is a masterclass in cool-climate viticulture. Named after the hills that define the southern edge of the valley, Solomon Hills is characterized by its extreme proximity to the Pacific Ocean, which blankets the vines in maritime fog and cool breezes. The soil, primarily composed of ancient marine-derived sandy loam, forces the vines to dig deep, resulting in low yields of highly concentrated fruit. Dominion Tantara crafts this single-vineyard bottling using traditional French techniques, emphasizing minimal intervention to let the terroir shine. The resulting wine is renowned for its striking acidity, bright red berry flavors, and a distinct, elegant thread of saline minerality and earthiness.

Dominion Tantara blev grundlagt i 1997 i det kølige Santa Barbara County i Californien og er en anerkendt artisanal producent, der især udmærker sig med sine terroirdrevne vine på Pinot Noir og Chardonnay.
