The Erdener Prälat is one of the Mosel's most legendary vineyards, a tiny, south-facing amphitheater of red slate bordered by towering cliffs that trap heat and create an exceptional microclimate. Historically reserved for the high clergy (the 'prelates'), this site produces some of the most concentrated Rieslings in the world. Dr. Loosen's Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) from this site is an extraordinary nectar made only in exceptional vintages. It is crafted from individually hand-selected grapes shriveled by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea). The red slate soil imparts a unique, fiery minerality, exotic spice, and opulent stone fruit character, balanced by the vibrant, electric acidity characteristic of Mosel Riesling.

The historic Dr. Loosen estate, located in Bernkastel-Kues in the Mosel region of Germany, has been in the same family for over two centuries.
