✨ Technical Specifications
The Aguijón de Abeja (Bee Sting) range is a creative project by the Durigutti brothers, Hector and Pablo, designed to pay homage to the tireless, disciplined work of the honeybee, which they see as a metaphor for the meticulous craftsmanship of the winemaker. This Reserva Malbec is specifically crafted to explore and showcase the diverse, distinctive terroirs of Argentina outside of their primary Mendoza estate, frequently sourcing high-quality fruit from the cool, wind-swept valleys of Patagonia (Río Negro). The extreme diurnal temperature shifts and intense southern sun of this terroir yield a Malbec characterized by vibrant acidity, intense floral aromatics of violet, and concentrated dark fruit. It is aged in oak barrels to add structure and complexity while preserving its wild, terroir-driven freshness.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 2002 by brothers and winemakers Héctor and Pablo Durigutti, Durigutti Family Winemakers is rooted in the historic terroir of Las Compuertas in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. Guided by a philosophy of minimal intervention and deep respect for agricultural heritage, the estate crafts terroir-driven wines using native yeasts, gentle extraction, and maturation vessels such as concrete eggs. While deeply committed to revitalizing centenarian vineyards in Mendoza, the brothers also champion diverse regional expressions sourced from high-altitude terroirs across Argentina, ranging from the northern valleys to Patagonia. Durigutti is internationally acclaimed for its expressive, finely structured interpretations of Malbec, Bonarda, and Cabernet Franc, alongside premium flagship bottlings under the Familia Durigutti and Gran Reserva lines.
