The 'HD' Malbec is a deeply personal creation by winemaker Hector Durigutti, serving as a tribute to his family heritage and the ancient, high-altitude terroirs of Mendoza. Sourced primarily from old vines in the prestigious Paraje Altamira sub-region of the Uco Valley, this wine captures the intense solar radiation and dramatic diurnal temperature shifts of the Andes. The vines, rooted in stony, calcium carbonate-rich soils, yield small, concentrated berries. Hector employs traditional, low-intervention winemaking techniques, including fermentation with native yeasts in concrete vats, followed by aging in French oak to preserve the vibrant, dark fruit character, floral violet notes, and chalky minerality that define top-tier Argentine Malbec.

Durigutti Family Winemakers was established in 2002 by winemaking brothers Héctor and Pablo Durigutti, who sought to champion Argentina's heritage terroirs through precise, artisanal winemaking. Their viticultural base centers on Finca Victoria in Las Compuertas, a historic high-altitude appellation within Luján de Cuyo perched above 1,000 meters along the Mendoza River. Here, ancient alluvial soils rich in silt, gravel, and limestone combine with intense Andean sunshine and marked diurnal shifts, creating optimal conditions for certified organic viticulture.
