✨ Technical Specifications
Condrieu La Doriane is a masterclass in the expression of Viognier, sourced from a selection of the appellation's finest, vertigo-inducing terraced vineyards, including Côte Chatillon and Volan. Here, the vines cling to steep granite slopes rich in 'arzelle'—a decomposed mica-schist soil that imparts a distinct mineral tension to the grape's natural opulence. The 2021 vintage was marked by a cooler growing season and spring frosts, which naturally limited yields but resulted in a wine of remarkable freshness, vibrant acidity, and exquisite aromatic definition. Vinified and aged for 12 months in 100% new oak barrels with complete malolactic fermentation, this wine beautifully marries intense notes of white peach, apricot, and exotic spices with a refined, toasted brioche character and a surprisingly lively, mineral-driven finish.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in the historic village of Ampuis, Domaine E. Guigal is one of the most prestigious and defining estates in France's Rhône Valley. The family's legacy was further elevated under Marcel Guigal and his son Philippe, marked by the meticulous restoration of the Renaissance Château d'Ampuis and an uncompromising commitment to long oak aging through their own on-site cooperage. Renowned globally for setting the quality benchmark of Northern Rhône viticulture, Guigal is legendary for its peerless Syrah bottlings—particularly the iconic single-vineyard Côte-Rôtie 'La-La-Las' (La Mouline, La Landonne, and La Turque)—as well as opulent, aromatic Viognier expressions such as Condrieu La Doriane.
