E. Guigal's Hermitage 'Ex Voto' Blanc is a monumental white wine born from the legendary, sun-drenched slopes of the Hermitage hill in the Northern Rhône. The name 'Ex Voto'—Latin for 'in fulfillment of a vow'—pays homage to the historical and spiritual heritage of the hill, famously crowned by the chapel of the 13th-century crusader knight Gaspard de Stérimberg. Produced only in exceptional vintages, this rare cuvée is crafted predominantly from ancient Marsanne vines (around 90%) blended with a touch of Roussanne, sourced from the prestigious, steep lieux-dits of Les Bessards, L'Hermite, Maison Blanche, and Le Méal. The wine undergoes an intensive vinification process, including fermentation and an astonishing 30 months of aging in 100% new French oak barrels. This meticulous craftsmanship yields an incredibly rich, powerful, and complex white wine defined by notes of honey, acacia, white peaches, toasted brioche, and a profound, stony minerality reflecting its granitic and limestone terroir.

Domaine E. Guigal blev grundlagt i 1946 af Étienne Guigal i den historiske landsby Ampuis og hører i dag til blandt de mest prestigefyldte og toneangivende vinhuse i Frankrigs Rhône-dal. Familiens stolte arv blev løftet til nye højder under Marcel Guigal og sønnen Philippe, hvilket blandt andet afspejles i den omhyggelige restaurering af renæssanceslottet Château d'Ampuis samt et kompromisløst fokus på langvarig fadlagring med eget bødkeri på ejendommen.
