As the quintessential introduction to the Rhône Valley, E. Guigal's Côtes du Rhône Rouge is a masterclass in consistency and regional expression. While most generic Côtes du Rhône reds are dominated by Grenache, Guigal's signature style proudly elevates Syrah to the forefront, a nod to the family's deep roots in the northern Rhône's Côte-Rôtie. Sourced from both northern and southern sub-regions, the grapes undergo a rigorous selection process. The wine is then aged for an impressive three years in large oak foudres at the historic cellars in Ampuis—an extraordinary length of aging for a regional classification. This meticulous care results in a wine of remarkable structure, offering a savory tapestry of dark berries, black pepper, and garrigue that has defined the standard of Rhône blends for decades.

Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in the ancient village of Ampuis, Domaine E. Guigal has become one of the Rhône Valley's most illustrious and influential wine estates. Now managed by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, the family is headquartered at the historic Château d'Ampuis, where they craft legendary wines that define the northern and southern Rhône. The estate is globally renowned for its iconic Côte-Rôtie single-vineyard bottlings—La Mouline, La Turque, and La Landonne—as well as the opulent Condrieu La Doriane. Their uncompromising production philosophy emphasizes extremely long barrel aging in their custom, in-house cooperage, resulting in wines of extraordinary depth, structure, and longevity.
