Château Belá Riesling represents an extraordinary collaboration between the legendary Mosel winemaker Egon Müller and Slovakian viticultural pioneer Miroslav Petrech. Situated in the southern Slovakian village of Belá near the Danube River, the historic Baroque estate of Château Belá has a winemaking heritage dating back to Roman times. Müller was drawn to this unique terroir, where warm, sunny days are tempered by cool river breezes, and the clay-loam soils are rich in limestone. Unlike the off-dry, low-alcohol Mosel giants, this Riesling is vinified in a dry, powerful style. It showcases a brilliant tension between ripe stone fruit, citrus zest, and a profound, stony minerality, reflecting the meticulous standards of the Müller winemaking dynasty applied to Slovak soil.

Weingut Egon Müller-Scharzhof traces its heritage to 1797 when Jean-Jacques Koch acquired the historic estate, nestled in Wiltingen along the Saar valley within Germany's famed Mosel region. Handed down across generations, the estate is celebrated globally under the stewardship of Egon Müller IV, who maintains a deeply traditional approach emphasizing pristine vineyard management, late harvesting, and minimal cellar intervention. The estate is crowned by its holdings in the legendary Scharzhofberg vineyard, home to pre-phylloxera, ungrafted Riesling vines grown on steep, slate soils.
