The estate of Le Gallais in Wiltingen was acquired by the Egon Müller family in 1954, preserving a winemaking legacy that dates back centuries. The Wiltinger Braune Kupp vineyard, situated on a steep, south-facing slope along a loop of the Saar River, is characterized by its unique iron-rich red slate soils, which impart a distinctively spicy, earthy minerality to the wines. This rare 'Versteigerung' (Auction) bottling represents the absolute pinnacle of the estate's production. Crafted from 100% Riesling grapes meticulously selected for noble rot (botrytis), it is designated with a Goldkapsel (Gold Capsule) to signify its extraordinary concentration and quality. Fermented in traditional oak Fuder, this wine is sold exclusively at the annual VDP auction in Trier. It is celebrated worldwide for its breathtaking tension, marrying luscious, honeyed sweetness with an electric, crystalline acidity that is the hallmark of the Saar.
