The estate of Le Gallais in Wiltingen was acquired by the Egon Müller family in 1954, bringing the historic Wiltinger Braune Kupp vineyard under their legendary stewardship. Unlike the grey slate of the famous Scharzhofberg, the Braune Kupp is characterized by iron-rich, reddish Devonian slate soils on a steep, south-facing amphitheater overlooking the Saar River. This unique terroir yields Rieslings of exceptional warmth, power, and spicy complexity. The 'Auktion' designation signifies a highly exclusive, micro-lot bottling of Auslese, selected from the finest botrytized grapes and sold only at the annual VDP Mosel wine auction in Trier. Crafted with minimal intervention and fermented in traditional oak Fuder, this rare sweet wine marries luscious, honeyed concentration with a breathtaking, electric spine of acidity.
