The Wiltinger Braune Kupp is a legendary steep vineyard situated on a loop of the Saar river, managed under the Le Gallais estate which has been in the hands of the iconic Egon Müller family since 1954. Unlike the cool blue slate of Scharzhofberg, the Braune Kupp ('brown hillock') is characterized by iron-rich red slate and clay, which faces south to catch the maximum warmth of the sun. This unique terroir produces a 100% Riesling of extraordinary opulence and exotic fruit character. Vinified using traditional methods in old oak Fuder casks with wild yeasts, this Auslese represents a meticulous selection of botrytized grapes. The history of the estate is steeped in Saar winemaking tradition, where the Müller family's uncompromising pursuit of quality transforms these late-harvest grapes into a sublime balance of rich sweetness and electric, mineral-driven acidity.

Weingut Egon Müller-Scharzhof traces its heritage to 1797 when Jean-Jacques Koch acquired the historic estate, nestled in Wiltingen along the Saar valley within Germany's famed Mosel region.
