The Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Spätlese represents a legendary partnership in the Saar valley. While Egon Müller is synonymous with the iconic Scharzhofberg, the estate also manages the historic Le Gallais property, acquired in 1954, which holds the crown jewel vineyard of Wiltinger Braune Kupp. Unlike the grey slate of Scharzhofberg, the Braune Kupp features iron-rich, reddish-brown clay and slate soils on a steep, south-facing amphitheater overlooking the Saar River. This unique terroir yields a 100% Riesling of remarkable power, exotic fruit character, and a distinct smoky minerality. Vinified using traditional, minimalist methods in neutral oak Fuder casks, this Spätlese balances luscious natural sweetness with the electric, crystalline acidity that defines the Saar, resulting in a wine of unparalleled elegance and historical depth.

Weingut Egon Müller-Scharzhof traces its heritage to 1797 when Jean-Jacques Koch acquired the historic estate, nestled in Wiltingen along the Saar valley within Germany's famed Mosel region.
