Egon Müller’s stewardship of this grand site has achieved mythical status. The estate's history dates back to the medieval Benedictine monks of St. Paulin, but it was acquired by the Müller family in 1797. The Scharzhofberger Riesling Auslese 'Nr. 28' is a rare, highly coveted auction bottling crafted from meticulously hand-selected, botrytis-affected grapes grown on steep, weathered grey slate soils. Fermented in traditional old oak fuders using native yeasts, this wine represents the pinnacle of sweet Riesling, balancing intense, honeyed concentration with a breathtaking, electric vein of acidity that is the hallmark of the cool Saar climate.
