Egon Müller’s Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett is one of the most revered white wines in the world, originating from the legendary Scharzhofberg vineyard in the Saar valley of the Mosel region. This steep, south-facing grand cru site, rich in weathered grey slate, has a viticultural history dating back to the 11th-century Benedictine monks of St. Paul in Trier. The Müller family has preserved these traditional methods since 1797. The Kabinett is crafted from 100% Riesling, fermented in traditional old oak Fuder casks with native yeasts. It represents the pinnacle of the classic Saar style: an ethereal, low-alcohol masterpiece balancing electric, vibrant acidity with delicate residual sweetness, showing notes of white peach, green apple, crushed slate, and white flowers.

Established in 1797 when the Müller family acquired the historic estate, Weingut Egon Müller-Scharzhof is located in Wiltingen within the Saar sub-region of the Mosel, Germany. Today, the estate is meticulously managed by Egon Müller IV, who continues a multi-generational legacy of producing some of the world's most coveted and long-lived white wines. The winery is legendary for its peerless Rieslings sourced from the steep, slate-rich slopes of the iconic Scharzhofberg vineyard, as well as the Wiltinger Braune Kupp site under the Le Gallais label. Emphasizing traditional, low-intervention cellar practices and old, ungrafted vines, Egon Müller crafts exceptionally precise, mineral-driven, and exquisitely balanced Rieslings ranging from crisp QbA to legendary, auction-grade Auslese and Trockenbeerenauslese expressions.
