Egon Müller’s Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett is one of the world's most revered white wines, originating from the legendary Scharzhofberg vineyard in the Saar valley, a sub-region of the Mosel. This historic estate, managed by the Müller family since 1797 after being confiscated from the monastery of St. Paul during the French Revolution, represents the pinnacle of traditional German winemaking. The vineyard's steep, south-facing slopes are rich in weathered grey Devonian slate, which retains heat and imparts a profound, crystalline minerality. Crafted from 100% Riesling, often from extremely old, ungrafted vines, this Kabinett is fermented in traditional large oak casks (Fuder) using indigenous yeasts. The resulting wine is a masterclass in tension, balancing vibrant, electric acidity with delicate residual sweetness, low alcohol, and ethereal notes of green apple, white peach, and wet stone.

Established in 1797 when the Müller family acquired the historic estate, Weingut Egon Müller-Scharzhof is located in Wiltingen within the Saar sub-region of the Mosel, Germany. Today, the estate is meticulously managed by Egon Müller IV, who continues a multi-generational legacy of producing some of the world's most coveted and long-lived white wines.
