Deep in the Saar valley of the Mosel region lies the legendary Scharzhofberg, a vineyard of mythical status whose history stretches back to medieval monastic ownership under the Abbey of St. Paul in Trier. Egon Müller's Scharzhofberger Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) represents the absolute pinnacle of sweet winemaking. Sourced from ancient, ungrafted vines rooted in weathered grey and blue slate soils, this wine is only produced in exceptional vintages when noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) perfectly dehydrates the grapes. Each shriveled berry is painstakingly hand-harvested one by one. The 'Auktion' designation indicates an incredibly rare, highly exclusive lot reserved solely for the prestigious annual VDP auction in Trier.
