The Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Beerenauslese (BA) Goldkapsel Auktion represents the absolute pinnacle of sweet winemaking from the Saar valley, crafted by the legendary estate of Egon Müller. While Müller is synonymous with the iconic Scharzhofberg, the estate also manages the historic Le Gallais domain, which includes the monopole-like holdings in the steep, south-facing Wiltinger Braune Kupp vineyard. Unlike the grey slate of Scharzhofberg, Braune Kupp is characterized by iron-rich red slate, which imparts a distinctively warm, spicy, and deeply mineral character to the Riesling. The 'BA' designation indicates that the wine is made from individually hand-harvested grapes shriveled by noble rot (botrytis).
