Crafted by the legendary Egon Müller estate under the Le Gallais label, the Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Spätlese represents one of the Saar valley's most historic terroirs. The Braune Kupp, or 'brown hillock', is a steep, south-facing vineyard overlooking the Saar River, famed for its iron-rich, reddish-brown slate soil. The Müller family acquired a majority share of this exceptional vineyard in 1954, continuing a legacy of meticulous, traditional winemaking. Fermented in traditional neutral oak Fuder casks using indigenous yeasts, this 100% Riesling showcases a brilliant tension between rich, natural residual sweetness and a piercing, electric acidity. It is renowned for its signature smoky minerality, stone fruit aromatics, and incredible longevity.

Weingut Egon Müller-Scharzhof traces its heritage to 1797 when Jean-Jacques Koch acquired the historic estate, nestled in Wiltingen along the Saar valley within Germany's famed Mosel region. Handed down across generations, the estate is celebrated globally under the stewardship of Egon Müller IV, who maintains a deeply traditional approach emphasizing pristine vineyard management, late harvesting, and minimal cellar intervention. The estate is crowned by its holdings in the legendary Scharzhofberg vineyard, home to pre-phylloxera, ungrafted Riesling vines grown on steep, slate soils.
