✨ Technical Specifications

Named after the ancient oak trees ('coyam' in the native Mapuche language) that surround the estate's biodynamic vineyards in the Colchagua Valley, Coyam is a pioneering icon of Chilean sustainable viticulture. First released in 2001, this field blend is crafted from grapes grown at the Los Robles estate, where biodiversity flourishes with alpacas, horses, and chickens roaming the vines to maintain ecological balance. The vineyard is managed under strict Demeter-certified biodynamic practices. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel and concrete eggs, followed by aging in French oak barrels, resulting in a deeply expressive, complex red that captures the raw energy and purity of its unique terroir.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1986 by the Guilisasti family, Emiliana has grown to become the world's leading producer of organic and biodynamic wines. In the late 1990s, visionary director Rafael Guilisasti partnered with renowned consulting winemaker Álvaro Espinoza to pioneer ecological viticulture across Chile's most prestigious wine regions, including the Casablanca, Maipo, Colchagua, and Cachapoal Valleys. Guided by Demeter-certified biodynamic farming principles, Emiliana eliminates synthetic inputs in favor of natural preparations and native biodiversity to authentically reflect terroir. The estate is widely celebrated for its flagship biodynamic red blends, notably Coyam and Gê, as well as expressive single-vineyard expressions of Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.
