✨ Technical Specifications
Gê, named after the ancient Greek word for 'Earth,' stands as a monumental achievement in South American viticulture as the continent's first certified biodynamic wine. Sourced from the stony, clay-loam soils of the Los Robles estate in the Colchagua Valley, this iconic red blend is the ultimate expression of Emiliana's holistic philosophy. The vineyard is managed as a self-sustaining ecosystem where cover crops, beneficial insects, and farm animals replace synthetic chemicals, and vineyard practices are aligned with lunar cycles. The wine is typically a blend of Syrah, Carmenere, and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in French oak barrels to achieve a seamless harmony of intense dark fruit, native scrubland herbs, and refined, velvety tannins. It represents a profound connection between the cosmos, the terrestrial terroir of Chile, and visionary winemaking.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1986 by the Guilisasti family, Emiliana has grown to become the world's leading producer of organic and biodynamic wines. In the late 1990s, visionary director Rafael Guilisasti partnered with renowned consulting winemaker Álvaro Espinoza to pioneer ecological viticulture across Chile's most prestigious wine regions, including the Casablanca, Maipo, Colchagua, and Cachapoal Valleys. Guided by Demeter-certified biodynamic farming principles, Emiliana eliminates synthetic inputs in favor of natural preparations and native biodiversity to authentically reflect terroir. The estate is widely celebrated for its flagship biodynamic red blends, notably Coyam and Gê, as well as expressive single-vineyard expressions of Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.
