Errazuriz's Estate Series Carmenere is a vibrant tribute to Chile's signature grape, which was famously rediscovered in the country's vineyards in 1994 after being thought extinct in Europe. Sourced from the sun-drenched slopes of the Aconcagua Valley, where warm days are tempered by cooling breezes from both the Pacific Ocean and the Andes Mountains, this wine captures the true essence of the varietal. The grapes are carefully harvested to manage Carmenere's natural pyrazines, resulting in a wine that beautifully balances rich red fruit with subtle herbal, black pepper, and roasted bell pepper notes. A portion of the blend is aged in French oak barrels to impart soft tannins and hints of sweet spice, creating an approachable yet structurally sound representation of Chilean terroir.
