✨ Technical Specifications
First registered by Miguel Torres Carbó in 1907, Coronas stands as one of the oldest historical trade names in the Torres portfolio. Grown primarily in inland Mediterranean vineyards of Catalunya DO with clay-limestone soils, the wine is centered around Tempranillo (locally Ull de Llebre) with a small component of Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation takes place under temperature control in stainless steel tanks, followed by approximately nine to twelve months of maturation in a combination of French and American oak barrels before release.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1870 by brothers Jaime and Miguel Torres Vendrell, Familia Torres is a historic family-owned wine estate based in Vilafranca del Penedès, Catalonia, with viticultural roots reaching back to the sixteenth century. Across five generations, the family has blended profound respect for Mediterranean terroir with forward-thinking innovation, playing a pivotal role in modernizing Spanish winemaking and pioneering environmental stewardship through their ambitious Torres & Earth climate initiative. Renowned for championing both recovered ancestral grape varieties and classic indigenous grapes, the estate crafts a wide spectrum of wines, including benchmark red labels like Coronas, a classic Tempranillo blend first registered in the early twentieth century that showcases elegant fruit character and balanced oak maturation.
