✨ Technical Specifications
The Polígonos series by Familia Zuccardi is a liquid map of the Uco Valley, designed to showcase the distinct geometric boundaries of its finest sub-appellations. This Semillon hails from the high-altitude, cold-climate micro-region of San Pablo, situated at approximately 1,400 meters above sea level. Historically, Semillon was a cornerstone of Argentine viticulture in the mid-20th century before being largely forgotten. Winemaker Sebastián Zuccardi has been instrumental in its modern renaissance, fermenting and aging this wine entirely in concrete vessels to avoid any oak masking. This traditional yet minimalist approach highlights the grape's natural waxy texture, vibrant mountain acidity, and the distinct mineral, chalky imprint of the region's calcium carbonate-rich soils.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi in Mendoza, Argentina, Familia Zuccardi has evolved into one of the country's most visionary and prestigious family-owned wine dynasties. Under the leadership of José Alberto Zuccardi and third-generation winemaker Sebastián Zuccardi, the estate has shifted its focus towards high-altitude viticulture in the Uco Valley, pioneering deep geological research and unadorned concrete-vessel fermentations to express genuine site specificity. Operating state-of-the-art facilities like the acclaimed Piedra Infinita winery in Paraje Altamira, Zuccardi produces benchmark, mineral-driven Malbecs such as Finca Piedra Infinita alongside benchmark expressions of Bonarda and Cabernet Sauvignon across red, white, sparkling, and fortified categories.
