✨ Technical Specifications
Familia Zuccardi's 'Serie A'—short for Serie Argentina—is a range designed to showcase the country's diverse microclimates and soil types through its most expressive grape varieties. Bonarda has a captivating history in Argentina; originally hailing from the Savoie region of France as Douce Noir, it was long relegated to the background as a high-yielding blending grape for bulk wines. Zuccardi was among the pioneering estates to champion Bonarda's potential as a premium single-varietal wine. Sourced from estate vineyards in Mendoza, particularly the warm, sandy soils of Santa Rosa, this wine is crafted to highlight the grape's naturally vibrant fruit character. Fermented in concrete vats and aged carefully to avoid overpowering oak influence, it offers a pure expression of dark cherry, plum, and soft spice, embodying the modern revival of this historic grape.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi in Mendoza, Argentina, Familia Zuccardi has evolved into one of the country's most visionary and prestigious family-owned wine dynasties. Under the leadership of José Alberto Zuccardi and third-generation winemaker Sebastián Zuccardi, the estate has shifted its focus towards high-altitude viticulture in the Uco Valley, pioneering deep geological research and unadorned concrete-vessel fermentations to express genuine site specificity. Operating state-of-the-art facilities like the acclaimed Piedra Infinita winery in Paraje Altamira, Zuccardi produces benchmark, mineral-driven Malbecs such as Finca Piedra Infinita alongside benchmark expressions of Bonarda and Cabernet Sauvignon across red, white, sparkling, and fortified categories.
