โจ Technical Specifications
Familia Zuccardi's Valles Torrontes is a vibrant celebration of Argentina's signature white grape, grown in the high-altitude mountain valleys where cool nights preserve the grape's intense aromatic profile. Torrontes itself is a fascinating native variety, born from a natural cross between Muscat of Alexandria and Criolla Chica during the colonial era. Zuccardi's approach focuses on purity and freshness; the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with no oak contact. This preserves the grape's classic, highly expressive nose of white flowers, citrus peel, and stone fruit, balanced by a crisp, mineral-driven acidity that reflects the stony soils of these elevated terroirs.
๐พ About the Producer
Founded in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi in Mendoza, Argentina, Familia Zuccardi has evolved into one of the country's most visionary and prestigious family-owned wine dynasties. Under the leadership of Josรฉ Alberto Zuccardi and third-generation winemaker Sebastiรกn Zuccardi, the estate has shifted its focus towards high-altitude viticulture in the Uco Valley, pioneering deep geological research and unadorned concrete-vessel fermentations to express genuine site specificity. Operating state-of-the-art facilities like the acclaimed Piedra Infinita winery in Paraje Altamira, Zuccardi produces benchmark, mineral-driven Malbecs such as Finca Piedra Infinita alongside benchmark expressions of Bonarda and Cabernet Sauvignon across red, white, sparkling, and fortified categories.
