Often affectionately dubbed the 'baby Beaucastel,' Coudoulet de Beaucastel Blanc is produced from a vineyard situated just east of the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation boundary. Despite its Côtes du Rhône classification, this wine shares the identical geological heritage of its grand sibling, featuring the famous 'galets roulés' (rolled pebbles) over Miocene marine molasses. The Perrin family applies the same rigorous biodynamic principles and meticulous winemaking standards here as they do at Château de Beaucastel. Fermented in a combination of stainless steel and traditional oak foudres, this white blend beautifully captures the warmth of the southern sun balanced by a striking, salty minerality and vibrant freshness.
🍾 wine.about_producer
Established in the southern Rhône Valley and closely tied to the legendary Château de Beaucastel since 1909, Famille Perrin is one of France's most respected winemaking dynasties. Under the visionary guidance of Jacques Perrin and subsequent generations, the family pioneered organic viticulture in 1950 and biodynamic farming in 1974. Based in Courthézon, they are celebrated for their masterful blending of all thirteen permitted Châteauneuf-du-Pape grape varieties, aging their wines in traditional large oak foudres to preserve purity and terroir. Their world-class portfolio ranges from the iconic, Mourvèdre-dominant Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin to expressive regional selections like Les Sinards and La Gille.
