Famille Perrin's Gigondas 'La Gille' is a masterful expression of the historical Gigondas appellation, drawing its unique character from sandy, limestone-rich soils. While Gigondas is often associated with powerful, muscular reds, the specific sandy parcels of La Gille yield a wine of remarkable elegance, precision, and silky tannins. The name Gigondas itself traces back to the Roman era, derived from 'Jocunditas'—meaning joy or festivity—a fitting legacy for this expressive red. Crafted primarily from Grenache and Syrah, the wine undergoes traditional vinification and aging in both oak foudres and stainless steel tanks to preserve its bright red fruit profile, signature notes of wild garrigue, and cracked black pepper.

Established in the southern Rhône Valley and closely tied to the legendary Château de Beaucastel since 1909, Famille Perrin is one of France's most respected winemaking dynasties. Under the visionary guidance of Jacques Perrin and subsequent generations, the family pioneered organic viticulture in 1950 and biodynamic farming in 1974. Based in Courthézon, they are celebrated for their masterful blending of all thirteen permitted Châteauneuf-du-Pape grape varieties, aging their wines in traditional large oak foudres to preserve purity and terroir. Their world-class portfolio ranges from the iconic, Mourvèdre-dominant Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin to expressive regional selections like Les Sinards and La Gille.
