✨ Technical Specifications

Hailing from the high-altitude terraces of Vinsobres in the northernmost part of the Southern Rhône, Les Hauts de Julien is a remarkable single-plot cuvée that showcases the incredible potential of centenarian vines. Purchased by the Perrin family, this ancient vineyard was originally planted around 1901. Situated at approximately 300 meters elevation on stony, limestone-rich soils, the plot benefits from a cool microclimate that imparts a signature freshness, intense minerality, and elegant structure to the wine. A co-fermented blend of ancient Syrah and Grenache, it is crafted with minimal intervention and aged in French oak, resulting in a deep, complex red that beautifully marries dark mountain fruit, wild herbs, and cracked black pepper.

🍾 About the Producer

Famille Perrin is one of the Southern Rhône Valley's most esteemed winemaking dynasties, famously anchored by the historic Château de Beaucastel estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Guided by generations of the Perrin family, the domaine became a pioneering champion of organic farming in 1950 and biodynamic viticulture in 1974 under the visionary stewardship of Jacques Perrin. Their winemaking philosophy centers on authentic terroir expression, biodiversity, and the preservation of artisanal blending traditions, famously utilizing all thirteen permitted Châteauneuf-du-Pape grape varieties with an emphasis on Mourvèdre. Today, Famille Perrin crafts a prestigious and multifaceted portfolio ranging from the legendary, age-worthy Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin to quintessential expressions of Gigondas, Cairanne, and classic Côtes du Rhône.
