✨ wine.spec_sheet

Faustino, globally renowned for its iconic Rioja wines adorned with classic Rembrandt portraits, brings its centuries-old dedication to craftsmanship to the sparkling world of D.O. Cava. The Faustino Brut Reserva is crafted using the traditional method, drawing on a harmonious blend of Macabeo and Chardonnay. The grapes are selected to balance the vibrant, citrusy acidity of Macabeo with the round, elegant structure of Chardonnay. Secondary fermentation takes place in the cool depth of the cellars, where the wine spends at least 15 months aging on its lees. This patient maturation imparts a delicate effervescence, complex notes of toasted brioche, and a clean, mineral-driven finish that reflects Spain's diverse terroir.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1861 by Eleuterio Martínez Arzok, Bodegas Faustino is a historic estate located in Oyón, within the prestigious Rioja Alavesa region of Spain. Now managed by the fourth generation of the Martínez Zabala family, the winery has become globally synonymous with premium Rioja, particularly renowned for its iconic frosted bottles and long-aged Gran Reserva wines. Faustino's winemaking philosophy combines traditional Rioja aging in American and French oak casks with modern techniques, utilizing estate-grown Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo. Beyond their legendary red reservoirs like Faustino I, the estate also crafts elegant whites, rosés, and traditional-method Cava sparkling wines.
