Hailing from the Borgo Guarini estate in the rolling hills of the Trapani countryside, Firriato's Altavilla della Corte Cabernet Sauvignon is a brilliant testament to how an international noble grape adapts to the intense Sicilian sun and maritime breezes. The name 'Altavilla' pays homage to the historic Norman heritage of Sicily, evoking a golden era of cultural synthesis. In this unique terroir, characterized by clay-loam soils and significant diurnal temperature shifts, the Cabernet Sauvignon grape develops a rich, Mediterranean personality. The wine undergoes traditional red vinification followed by a period of refinement in French oak barriques, resulting in a structured yet remarkably approachable red that balances classic varietal notes of blackcurrant and herbaceous undertones with the warm, spicy complexity of the Sicilian landscape.

Firriato blev grundlagt i 1984 af Salvatore Di Gaetano og hans hustru Vinizia Novara og regnes i dag blandt Siciliens førende vinproducenter med stor anerkendelse for deres rolle i øens vinøse renæssance.
