✨ Technical Specifications

Firriato's Ribeca is a landmark wine in the modern renaissance of Sicilian viticulture, serving as a liquid monument to the revival of Perricone—an ancient, indigenous red grape that had teetered on the brink of extinction. Cultivated on the Pianoro Cuddìa estate in the wind-swept Trapani countryside, this wine is the culmination of years of passionate clonal selection and restoration work by the Di Gaetano family. The estate's clay-rich soils and intense Mediterranean sun coax out the grape's naturally robust tannins and vibrant acidity. Aged for approximately 10 to 12 months in French oak barriques, Ribeca is celebrated for its deep ruby-purple hue, complex aromas of dark marasca cherry, lavender, and black pepper, and its remarkably elegant, velvety structure.

🍾 About the Producer

Established in 1984 by Salvatore Di Gaetano and his wife Vinizia Novara, Firriato is one of Sicily's premier wine producers, widely acclaimed for championing the island's viticultural renaissance. The estate spans remarkably diverse terroirs across Sicily, ranging from the sun-drenched vineyards of the Trapani countryside and the maritime climate of the island of Favignana to the high-altitude volcanic slopes of Mount Etna. Deeply committed to certified organic farming and sustainability, Firriato focuses on preserving authentic biodiversity by cultivating native Sicilian varieties such as Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese, and Grillo, alongside select international grapes. Their dynamic portfolio captures the distinct character of each microclimate through celebrated flagship wines like Harmonium, Ribeca, and the Etna-sourced Cavanera collection.
