Crafted primarily from Chardonnay grown in the marine-sedimentary, clay-limestone soils of the Langhe hills, this Metodo Classico (traditional method) sparkling wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle followed by extensive lees aging in the estate's historic 19th-century cellars. Founded in 1858 by Vittorio Emanuele II, the first King of Italy, as a gift for his beloved Rosa Vercellana, Fontanafredda is steeped in royal heritage and situated among the rolling hills of Serralunga d'Alba in Piedmont's Langhe region.
