The 'Klostersatz' vineyard, situated on a gentle, sweeping bend of the Danube River in the loess-rich plains of Oberloiben, boasts a history deeply intertwined with monastic viticulture. Its name translates to 'monastery site,' paying homage to the monks of the Bavarian Tegernsee Abbey who cultivated these very soils as early as the Middle Ages. Unlike the dizzyingly steep, primary rock terraces of the Wachau, Ried Klostersatz features deep, alluvial soils composed of fine sand, gravel, and loess. This unique terroir allows the Riesling vines to dig deep, yielding a wine characterized by its vibrant stone fruit aromatics, delicate mineral tension, and an approachable, juicy elegance. Under the meticulous stewardship of the Pichler family, the grapes are harvested entirely by hand and fermented in large, neutral oak casks, preserving the pristine, crystalline purity of the fruit while honoring centuries of Wachau winemaking heritage.

Weingut F.X. Pichler blev grundlagt i 1898 i landsbyen Oberloiben i Østrigs prestigefyldte Wachau-region og regnes i dag på verdensplan for et absolut referencepunkt for hvidvine i verdensklasse. Vingården blev ført til international berømmelse af Franz Xaver (F.X.) Pichler og drives i dag af Lucas Pichler ud fra en kompromisløs filosofi, der sætter fokus på terroir-præcision, minimal intervention i kælderen og det rene udtryk fra de ældgamle terrasser af urgrund. Tørre hvidvine fra legendariske, stejle parceller som Kellerberg, Loibenberg og Steinertal udmærker sig ved en ekstraordinær koncentration, mineralitet og spændstighed. Huset er især berømt for sine kraftfulde, lagringsværdige Grüner Veltliner- og Riesling-vine, der kulminerer i monumentale flagskibscuvéer som 'Unendlich'.
