The 'Unendlich' (meaning 'infinite') Grüner Veltliner from F.X. Pichler is a monumental Austrian white wine of mythic proportions. The name and its iconic label—featuring a star-spangled blue night sky—were inspired by Karl Friedrich Schinkel’s legendary 1815 stage design for Mozart’s opera 'The Magic Flute.' This design symbolizes the wine's seemingly endless finish and multi-dimensional depth. Sourced from the estate's finest, sun-drenched stone terraces in the Wachau, primarily the Kellerberg, the grapes undergo meticulous selection, often including a small percentage of botrytised berries to enhance complexity. Fermented and aged in large, neutral Austrian oak casks, this rare bottling represents the absolute pinnacle of Grüner Veltliner, combining rich, exotic fruit with a profound, stony minerality and structural power.
