Crafted as a tribute to Dolores Sala Vivé, the co-founder of Freixenet and a pioneering figure in the Spanish sparkling wine revolution, Cuvée D.S. Gran Reserva is a vintage Cava produced only in exceptional years. This sophisticated sparkling white wine is made from the classic Catalan trio of Macabeo, Xarel·lo, and Parellada grown in the chalky-clay soils of the Penedès region. Utilizing the traditional method, it undergoes an extensive aging period on its lees for at least 36 to 48 months in the subterranean cellars of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. This prolonged autolysis imparts a deep golden hue, fine persistent bubbles, and a complex aromatic profile of ripe stone fruits, toasted brioche, nuts, and subtle honeyed notes, while retaining a vibrant, crisp acidity that speaks to its Mediterranean heritage.
