Giramonte is the flagship Cru of Tenuta Castiglioni, the oldest estate of the legendary Frescobaldi family, where winemaking history dates back to the 11th century. Situated in the gentle hills of Montespertoli southwest of Florence, the estate's warm microclimate and clay-rich soils provide the perfect cradle for Merlot and Sangiovese. First released in 1999, Giramonte is a modern Tuscan masterpiece that marries the opulent, velvety texture of Merlot with the vibrant structure and acidity of Sangiovese. The wine undergoes meticulous selection, followed by fermentation in stainless steel and aging for around 16 months in French oak barriques, followed by further refinement in the bottle. This process yields an incredibly rich, complex red characterized by dark fruit, cocoa, and sweet spice notes, embodying the noble heritage and forward-thinking spirit of the Frescobaldi dynasty.

Frescobaldi er et af Toscanas mest historiske og agtede aristokratiske vindynastier med en stolt vinmagerarv, der strækker sig over 700 år tilbage til begyndelsen af det 14. århundrede.
