G.H. Mumm's Cordon Rouge is one of the most iconic symbols of Champagne, instantly recognizable by its bold red sash—a tribute to the French Légion d'Honneur established in 1876. Founded in Reims in 1827, the house established a motto of 'Only the Best.' This non-vintage Brut is a masterclass in blending, typically dominated by Pinot Noir which provides structure and power, balanced by the elegance of Chardonnay and the round, fruity appeal of Pinot Meunier. Sourced from over 100 different crus and incorporating up to 30% reserve wines for consistency, the cuvée is aged for at least 20 to 30 months on its lees, resulting in a fresh, vibrant Champagne characterized by aromas of white peaches, citrus, and toasted brioche.

Established in Reims in 1827 by the German winemaking Mumm family, Maison G.H. Mumm has long stood as an archetype of Pinot Noir-driven Champagne excellence. The estate oversees nearly 218 hectares of premier vineyards, anchored in historic Grand Cru terroirs across the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, including prime holdings in Verzenay, Mailly, Bouzy, and Ambonnay. These sites benefit from porous Campanian chalk subsoils, optimal solar aspects, and a cool semi-continental climate, yielding grapes with remarkable structure, energy, and tension. Operating under strict Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne (VDC) and Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) certifications, the house eliminated chemical herbicides across estate parcels. Winemaking emphasizes precise parcel-by-parcel vinification in stainless steel, partial blocking of malolactic fermentation to retain vibrant acidity, and extensive aging in 25 kilometers of subterranean chalk cellars. Landmark expressions include the universally recognized Cordon Rouge, the prestigious terroir-focused RSRV collection, and the pinnacle Cuvée R. Lalou.
