✨ Technical Specifications
G.H. Mumm's Demi-Sec NV is a historical tribute to the 19th century, an era when Champagne was traditionally enjoyed with a much sweeter profile, highly favored by royal courts across Europe. Established in Reims in 1827, the house of G.H. Mumm crafts this cuvee with a deep respect for heritage. The blend is uniquely dominated by Pinot Meunier, a grape prized for its intense fruitiness and roundness, which is supported by the structure of Pinot Noir and the elegance of Chardonnay. With a generous dosage of around 40 grams of sugar per liter, this Champagne undergoes extensive cellar aging to harmonize its sweetness with vibrant acidity. The result is a beautifully balanced, rich sparkling wine that evokes nostalgic aromas of honey, candied fruits, and freshly baked brioche from Mumm's historic chalk cellars.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1827 in Reims by the Mumm brothers and their partners, Champagne G.H. Mumm is one of the most storied and prominent houses in the Champagne region of France. The house's legacy was cemented in 1876 when Georges Hermann Mumm introduced the iconic red silk ribbon across the bottle—inspired by the Grand Cordon of the Legion of Honour—crystallizing their enduring motto, 'Only the Best.' Anchored by extensive Grand Cru vineyard holdings, particularly in the Montagne de Reims, Mumm's winemaking philosophy highlights the structure, freshness, and power of Pinot Noir. The house is internationally celebrated for its vibrant flagship Cordon Rouge Brut, alongside sophisticated prestige bottlings such as Cuvée R. Lalou and the historic, mineral-rich Mumm de Cramant Blanc de Blancs.
