The 'Laurus' range by Gabriel Meffre derives its name from the Latin word for laurel, a historic nod to the Roman heritage that deeply influenced the vineyards of southern France. This Syrah, sourced from selected vineyards in the sun-drenched Pays d'Oc, represents a harmonious marriage of Mediterranean warmth and refined winemaking. The grapes benefit from clay-limestone soils and a climate tempered by maritime breezes, allowing the Syrah to develop its signature dark fruit profile and spicy complexity. In keeping with the Laurus philosophy, a portion of the wine is aged in custom-made 275-liter oak barrels (demi-muids), which imparts subtle structure, rounded tannins, and delicate toasted notes without overpowering the vibrant varietal fruit character.
