Named in honor of the historical heritage of the region, the Gabriel Meffre Saint-Barthélémy Vacqueyras is a brilliant showcase of the Southern Rhône's rustic elegance. Sourced from select vineyards in the Vacqueyras appellation, this cuvée pays homage to the local history, drawing character from the sun-drenched terraces composed of rolled pebbles, clay, and sandy-gravel soils. The terroir imparts a distinct mineral depth and structure to the classic blend of Grenache and Syrah. Traditionally vinified with careful temperature control and aged to preserve the vibrant fruit profile while developing savory complexity, this wine embodies the warmth, spice, and garrigue-scented soul of the region.
🍾 Om vinhuset / producenten
Gabriel Meffre blev grundlagt i 1936 af ægteparret Gabriel og Juliette Meffre i den historiske landsby Gigondas. Siden da har vinhuset udviklet sig til en af det sydlige Rhônes absolutte benchmark-producenter og førende négociant-éleveurs. Huset råder over marker i anerkendte appellationer på tværs af Rhône, Provence og Pays d'Oc, hvor de forener stolte regionale traditioner med moderne præcision og et kompromisløst fokus på bæredygtigt vinbrug. Gabriel Meffre er særligt berømt for sine elegante, terroir-drevne rød-, hvid- og rosévine – ikke mindst de prestigefyldte Laurus-cuvéer, der fremhæver klassiske druesorter som Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre og Viognier gennem minutiøs parceludvælgelse og skræddersyet fadlagring på egetræsfade.
