✨ Technical Specifications

Hailing from the sun-drenched terraces of the Southern Rhône, the Gabriel Meffre 'Saint-Mapalis' is a classic expression of the Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu appellation. The name 'Plan de Dieu' (Plain of God) dates back to the Middle Ages, inspired by the vast, bandit-ridden scrubland where travelers would commit their souls to God before attempting to cross. Today, this terroir is celebrated for its stony soils covered with 'galets roulés' (rounded pebbles) over deep clay. These stones absorb the intense Mediterranean heat by day and radiate it back to the vines at night, fostering optimal ripeness. Crafted with traditional Southern Rhône varietals, Saint-Mapalis undergoes careful vinification to preserve its vibrant fruit character, resulting in a wine defined by rich notes of dark berries, wild herbs (garrigue), and a touch of warming black pepper.
