Named in honor of Saint Siffrein (Saint Siffredus), the revered 6th-century bishop of Carpentras whose legacy is deeply woven into the history of the Vaucluse, this red wine from Maison Gabriel Meffre celebrates the rich heritage of the southern Rhône Valley. Crafted to showcase the classic power and warmth of the region, the wine is typically sourced from select vineyards characterized by stony, clay-limestone soils, including the famous 'galets roulés' (rounded river stones) that absorb heat by day and radiate it to the vines at night. The wine undergoes traditional vinification with controlled temperatures to extract deep color and supple tannins, followed by aging in a combination of concrete tanks and oak casks. This process yields a robust, expressive red marked by ripe dark fruit, garrigue herbs, and sweet spices, embodying the generous spirit of the southern Rhône.
