Crafted by the legendary Angelo Gaja, Vignarey is a distinguished Barbera d'Alba that helped redefine the global perception of the Barbera grape. Historically relegated to everyday table wine status in Piedmont, Gaja elevated this variety by applying rigorous vineyard management and modern cellar techniques. Sourced from the Vignarey vineyard in the commune of Treiso, situated within the prestigious Barbaresco zone, the vines thrive in nutrient-poor, limestone-rich clay marl soils. By utilizing low yields and aging the wine in French oak barriques, Gaja tamed Barbera's naturally high acidity, integrating it with plush dark cherry fruit, subtle spice, and a velvety texture that pays homage to Piedmontese tradition while embracing modern elegance.

Gaja blev grundlagt i 1859 af Giovanni Gaja i landsbyen Barbaresco i Piemonte og har siden udviklet sig til et af verdens mest berømte og visionære vinhuse.
