While Domaine Geantet-Pansiot is legendary for its muscular, deeply colored Gevrey-Chambertin reds, their white wine production represents a rare and delightful counterpoint. Sourced from carefully tended parcels of Chardonnay in the CΓ΄te de Nuits, this Blanc showcases the same meticulous standards the domaine applies to its Grand Crus. The family employs a strict sorting process, ensuring only pristine golden berries are pressed. Vinified with minimal intervention to preserve the natural tension and mineral energy of the clay-limestone soils, the wine undergoes aging in oak barrels to develop a subtle texture and complexity. It is a testament to the family's versatility, offering a vibrant, pure expression of Burgundian Chardonnay that balances bright orchard fruit with a refined, stony finish.
πΎ About the Producer
Founded in 1954 by Edmond Geantet and Bernadette Pansiot, Domaine Geantet-Pansiot is a celebrated family-run estate based in the renowned CΓ΄te de Nuits village of Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy. The domaine expanded considerably under the direction of Edmond's son Vincent, who joined in 1982, and is now guided alongside Vincent's son Fabien, preserving a dedicated generational craft. Revered for rigorous vineyard stewardship and meticulous sorting at harvest, the estate employs extensive cold pre-fermentation maceration and judicious oak aging to craft wines of remarkable depth, velvety texture, and aromatic purity. Domaine Geantet-Pansiot is particularly acclaimed for its old-vine Pinot Noir expressions across prestigious terroirs, ranging from Bourgogne and Marsannay to Premier and Grand Cru appellations such as Charmes-Chambertin.
