✨ Technical Specifications

Crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail as their prestigious village and Grand Cru bottlings, the Bourgogne Rouge from Domaine Geantet-Pansiot is a masterclass in regional Burgundy. The fruit is primarily sourced from select parcels on the plains below Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, notably including the coveted 'Bons Batons' lieu-dit. Under the stewardship of Vincent and Fabien Geantet, the estate employs its signature cold pre-fermentation maceration for nearly ten days. This technique, coupled with complete destemming and minimal intervention, coaxes out an exceptionally deep color, intense aromatic purity, and a velvety texture. The result is a wonderfully expressive Pinot Noir that beautifully marries the rich, fruit-forward modern style of the domaine with the classic, earthy undertones of the Côte de Nuits.

🍾 About the Producer

Domaine Geantet-Pansiot was founded in 1954 through the marriage of Edmond Geantet and Bernadette Pansiot, beginning with a modest three hectares of vines in Gevrey-Chambertin. Vincent Geantet entered the family estate in 1977, followed by his son Fabien in 2006, expanding their footprint across premier Côte de Nuits climats, including Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Marsannay, and the Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin. The vineyards thrive on limestone-clay soils managed strictly under lutte raisonnée, eschewing chemical herbicides and synthetic fertilizers in favor of routine plowing. Viticultural precision extends to harvest, where fruit undergoes meticulous multi-stage sorting down to whole intact berries, termed 'caviar.' Cellar techniques feature complete destemming, an extensive ten-day cold pre-fermentation maceration, indigenous yeast fermentation, and maturation in approximately 30 to 40 percent new French oak without preliminary racking. The house style yields deep, concentrated, and structured Pinots Noir, highlighted by benchmarks like Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Le Poissenot, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, and the distinctive Gevrey-Chambertin En Champ.
