Sourced from one of the most prestigious estates in the Moulin-à-Vent cru of Beaujolais, Domaine de la Vigne Romaine pays tribute to the ancient Roman legions who first cultivated vines on these historic, sun-drenched slopes. Under the stewardship of the legendary Georges Duboeuf, this wine showcases the absolute peak of the Gamay grape. The vineyard's terroir is defined by decomposed pink granite soils rich in manganese, which imparts an extraordinary structure, deep mineral complexity, and intense floral aromas of violet and wilted rose to the wine. Vinified using traditional methods, this Moulin-à-Vent beautifully bridges the gap between the vibrant fruit of Beaujolais and the elegant, savory complexity of aged Burgundian Pinot Noir.

Les Vins Georges Duboeuf blev grundlagt i 1964 af Georges Duboeuf – den visionære vinhandler, der med rette blev kåret som "Kongen af Beaujolais" – og vinhuset ændrede for altid Gamay-druens globale anseelse. Med hovedsæde i Romanèche-Thorins samarbejder det familieejede négociant-hus med hundredvis af vinbønder på tværs af det sydlige Bourgogne og Beaujolais. Sortimentet afspejler de mangeartede terroirs i regionens ti Cru-appellationer, hvor Gamay stortrives på skråninger med karakteristisk lyserød granit, manganholdig skifer og forvitret ler under et halvkontinentalt klima med middelhavsindflydelse. Dyrkningsfilosofien hos partnerdomænerne bygger på bæredygtige principper og lutte raisonnée, suppleret af et voksende antal økologisk certificerede parceller. Vinifikationen foregår via traditionel semi-carbonique og gæring med hele klaser i temperaturstyrede tanke, hvilket bevarer den livlige, rene røde frugt, de florale nuancer og en smidig tanninstruktur. Huset ledes i dag af Franck Duboeuf og sønnen Adrien, og maison'en står bag toneangivende enkeltmarksaftapninger og Cru-vine, ikke mindst Château de Saint-Amour, Domaine du Moulin-à-Vent, Domaine de la Vigne Romaine samt de prestigefyldte Fleurie-cuvéer.
