Domaine des Pontheux is situated in Chiroubles, the highest and coolest of the ten Crus of Beaujolais. Managed under the legendary house of Georges Duboeuf, this estate showcases the delicate, ethereal side of the Gamay grape. The vineyard's steep slopes are rich in decomposed pink granite and quartz, known locally as 'gore', which forces the vines to dig deep for nutrients. This unique terroir, combined with the high altitude, yields a wine of remarkable freshness and elegance. Traditionally vinified using semi-carbonic maceration to emphasize its bright fruit character, this wine captures the essence of Chiroubles—often celebrated as the most floral and graceful of the Crus, carrying a historical reputation for producing wines of pure, joyful expression.

Established in 1964 by Georges Duboeuf—the visionary merchant famously dubbed the 'King of Beaujolais'—Les Vins Georges Duboeuf transformed the global reputation of Gamay. Headquartered in Romanèche-Thorins, the family négociant house collaborates with hundreds of winegrowers spanning southern Burgundy and Beaujolais. The portfolio captures the diverse terroirs across the ten regional Crus, where Gamay thrives on distinctive pink granite, manganese-rich schist, and decomposed clay slopes under a semi-continental climate with Mediterranean influences. Viticultural philosophy emphasizes sustainable management and lutte raisonnée across partner domains, alongside expanding certified organic initiatives. Utilizing traditional semi-carbonic and whole-cluster fermentations in temperature-controlled tanks, the vinification strategy preserves vivacious red fruit purity, florality, and supple tannin structure. Managed today by Franck Duboeuf and his son Adrien, the maison produces benchmark single-estate and cru bottlings, notably Château de Saint-Amour, Domaine du Moulin-à-Vent, Domaine de la Vigne Romaine, and the prestigious Fleurie cuvées.
