✨ Technical Specifications

Crafted from Rubin—a legendary Bulgarian crossing of Nebbiolo and Syrah developed in 1944—this wine showcases the distinct terroir of the Brestovitsa Vineyard in the Thracian Valley. The 2022 vintage benefited from a warm, dry growing season, allowing the grapes to achieve superb phenolic ripeness while retaining vibrant acidity, thanks to the cooling evening breezes descending from the nearby Rhodope Mountains. The vineyard's clay-limestone soils impart a deep mineral complexity and structured, robust tannins. This expression beautifully marries the structural elegance and age-worthiness of Nebbiolo with the dark, spicy, and fleshy fruit profile of Syrah, resulting in a complex red with notes of black cherry, dried herbs, and sweet tobacco.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 2014 by winemakers Petar Georgiev and Radostin Milkov, Georgiev/Milkov is a boutique Bulgarian winery rooted in the storied terroir of the Thracian Valley. United by extensive international cellaring experience, the duo established the project with a dedicated mission to revitalize and champion Bulgaria's indigenous grape varieties through artisanal, low-intervention techniques. Sourcing grapes from meticulously selected old vines, most notably in and around the village of Brestovitsa, the winery is particularly celebrated for its expressive, single-vineyard expressions of Rubin and Mavrud. Their wines showcase a harmonious balance of fresh acidity, textural depth, and authentic varietal character that has earned them widespread critical acclaim as pioneers of modern Bulgarian winemaking.
