✨ Technical Specifications

Crafted from the pioneering biodynamic vineyards of Domaine de Cigalus, Gérard Bertrand’s flagship estate in the Languedoc, L'Indomptable de Cigalus Rouge is a testament to harmony between nature and viticulture. Gérard Bertrand, a former rugby champion turned visionary winemaker, has championed Demeter-certified biodynamics here, treating the vineyard as a living organism. This rich red blend typically marries international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc with classic Mediterranean grapes such as Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan. The grapes are grown on hot, sunny soils of clay and limestone, which are cooled by maritime breezes. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for approximately 12 months, resulting in a velvety, complex profile that balances ripe black fruit, sweet spices, and toasted oak with the wild, untamed spirit of the southern French garrigue.
