Crafted in the birthplace of sparkling wine, the Languedoc's Limoux appellation, this cuvée pays homage to Thomas Jefferson, America's founding father and an avid wine connoisseur. In 1788, Jefferson discovered the sparkling wines of Limoux and became an ardent admirer, keeping a personal cellar of these southern French bubbles at Monticello. Gerard Bertrand's Thomas Jefferson Brut Rosé is produced using the traditional method, drawing from a blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Pinot Noir grown in the cool-climate, high-altitude clay-limestone soils of Limoux. The Pinot Noir imparts its delicate salmon-pink hue and red fruit character, while the Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc provide structure, acidity, and floral notes. Following secondary fermentation in the bottle, the wine is aged on its lees to develop its signature fine bubbles, creamy texture, and complex toasted brioche undertones.
